We are honored to offer our customers an excellent Service Center, fully staffed with certified technicians ready to help you maintain your used Toyota car, truck, or SUV for many years to come. Below we have outlined a general overview of everything you need to know about maintaining your used Toyota vehicle!

Top 5 Most Important Steps

It’s extremely easy to get caught up in all of the excitement of your new-to-you Toyota and simply forget the attention your vehicle requires over time, we get it! That’s why it’s our mission to relieve the stress and assist you in the not-so-fun part of maintaining your used Toyota car. Though there are many factors to consider in keeping your used Toyota running a long healthy life, we believe these are the 5 most important things to remember:

  1. Oil Changes
  2. Tire Pressure and Rotations
  3. Air Filters
  4. Brake Pads & Fluid
  5. Cooling System

These 5 factors may heavily influence how long your vehicle will last and the quality of your vehicle performance as well. So, let’s get into each of these!

Oil Changes

To enjoy your vehicle for many years to come, oil changes are certainly an important task you should keep up with. Oil is what keeps your engine lubricated, and is typically either synthetic or nonsynthetic, depending on the specific make and model of your used Toyota. It is recommended that you get your oil changed every 3,000 miles or 5,000 miles if you use synthetic oil. Dirty oil, low oil, or no oil can seriously damage your engine, so be sure to identify the type of oil you need and inspect it often!

Tire Rotations

Keeping up with your tires is not only important for the life of your vehicle but the safety of the passengers as well. You should always check the pressure of your tires to make sure they have the correct amount of air, which you can look upon the driver side door jamb sticker or in the owner’s manual. Rotating your tires help to even out the wear on your tires, which in turn makes them last longer.

Air Filters

For sake of your fuel efficiency and vehicle acceleration, you should always remember to change your air filters. Over time, air filters get dirty and clogged, which limits the amount of air flowing into your used Toyota’s engine, which makes it work harder and use more fuel. Changing your air filter is a quick and easy process and could save you tons of money in the long run!

Brake Pads & Fluid

One thing you don’t want to find out the hard way is that your brakes aren’t working properly. Over time, brake pads get worn thin and rub together, which can create a high-pitched screeching sound, however, we recommend getting them checked periodically before the sounds even arise. You should always monitor your brake pads and braking fluid. Leaking brake fluid is a sure sign that your brakes need immediate attention.

Cooling System

Lastly, we recommend always checking the levels of the coolant in your vehicle. Coolant (aka antifreeze) is responsible for keeping your engine cool during high temperatures and also helps prevent it from freezing in lower temperatures. Coolant also helps prevent corrosion, foam, and deposits from forming which could also hurt your engine
